YOCREAM AWARDED NATIONAL YOGURT ASSOCIATION LIVE & ACTIVE CULTURES SEAL OF APPROVAL

PORTLAND, OR., AUGUST 29, 2007 - YoCream International, Inc. (YOCM) was approved by the National Yogurt Association (NYA) to use the Live and Active Culture (LAC) Seal on the Company’s nonfat frozen yogurts on August 17, 2007. As a pioneer in the frozen yogurt industry, YoCream has been committed to producing genuine yogurt products since 1977. YoCream’s management decided that now is the right time to join forces with the NYA to promote the benefits of frozen yogurt.

“Consumers are becoming more sensitive to whether they are receiving a true cultured product and rightly so,” stated John Hanna, CEO and Chairman of the Board of YoCream. “We’d like all manufacturers of what claims to be frozen yogurt to meet the standards set forth by the NYA.” YoCream produces all of its products in their dairy and manufacturing plant as opposed to utilizing co-packers. “We assure high live active culture counts in our frozen yogurt by means of a careful inoculating and incubating process,” continued Hanna. “This  method allows us to create true frozen yogurts that also qualify for the Live and Active Cultures Seal.”

The NYA requires frozen yogurt to contain 10 million (10,000,000) CFUs (colony forming units) of active cultures per gram, at the time of manufacture, of the two cultures required to make yogurt. YoCream’s nonfat frozen yogurt meets and exceeds the requirements with culture counts in the hundreds of millions (>100,000,000) including two additional beneficial live active cultures. "The National Yogurt Association is pleased to authorize the use of its Live and Active Culture Seal on YoCream nonfat frozen yogurt products," said NYA President Leslie Sarasin. "The company exceeded the criteria for live and active cultures adopted by the NYA Board of Directors. We recognize YoCream’s long-term and continued commitment to promote products with the healthful attributes of live and active culture yogurt."

“For three decades we’ve provided national and international food service operators and their customers with quality frozen yogurt products containing live and active cultures,” said Hanna. “It’s a business precept for us.” YoCream offers more than 35 nonfat frozen yogurt varieties including YoCream Original Tart™ in natural and green tea profiles. YoCream Original Tart™ is essentially the original YoCream formula utilized by the Company in the ‘70s. Hanna continued, “Reintroducing a heritage product like Original Tart™ has been rewarding. I believe the resurgence in yogurt popularity in all forms has been fueled by consumers’ return to healthier eating habits. We applaud the NYA for furthering the education of the public about the benefits of yogurt and are proud to display the LAC Seal on our products.”
