YoCream International, Inc. Launches Aseptic Packaging Line

    PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 6, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- YoCream International,
Inc. (Nasdaq: YOCM), a leading producer of soft serve and hard pack frozen
desserts and beverages, today announced completion of a $2.5 million in-house
aseptic packaging line. Greatly enhancing production capability, the line went
"live" in October 2003, moving the company to the next level of food
technology for the frozen beverage market.
    Aseptic manufacturing produces shelf stable products that do not require
refrigeration for shipping or storage. "Capable of filling half-gallon to
5-gallon bags, the line's flexibility results in several new production
options," stated Issam Khouri, Director of Manufacturing Operations. "In
addition to smoothies, our new high-acid line will be able to package juices,
fruits and purees, and other frozen beverage mixes." Bags can be easily
snipped and poured, dispensed through the cap, or simply connected to auto
fill equipment at the customer's location, resulting in saved time and
overhead for operators.

Additionally, it takes up to 25 times less space for disposal of aseptic bags,
resulting in further cost savings to the operator.
    Installation of the new line opens capacity on existing production lines
by more than 30%, freeing up production time for potential custom
manufacturing and co packing partners as well as the company's own products.
